COVID-19 Update

The cemetery is open to visitors between 8 am (remote office 8.30 am) and 3.45 pm, Sundays to Thursdays and 8 am (remote office 8.30 am) to 1.15 pm on Fridays.

The National Lockdown effective from Wednesday 6th January 2021, requires people to STAY AT HOME. You must not leave, or be outside of your home except where necessary. Although the cemetery will remain open to visitors, we strongly urge people to think carefully before making the journey.

Funeral services are limited to a maximum of 15 people plus the Rabbi or other officiant. We ask for your cooperation as these restrictions will be enforced. Attendees are required to remain within their family groups and these groups are not permitted to mingle.

The numbers of attendees at stone settings is strictly limited to 6 people plus the Rabbi or other officiant. The same rules as set out above apply.

All visitors are required to wear masks or other face coverings at all times. We expect everyone to strictly follow the government rules on self-isolation and quarantine when either symptomatic with COVID-19 symptoms, having had a positive test, or having recently been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. Any person in one of these categories should not visit the cemetery.

The cemetery office and prayer hall are closed but our toilets are open. We cannot provide prayer books or transport.

Gratuities

Edgwarebury Joint Burial Board and the staff are committed to offering members a very professional service and there is a strict ‘no gratuities’ policy. People who would like to donate any monies can do so through the charity boxes found near the cemetery offices and the prayer hall. Donations help with the maintenance and upkeep of the grounds.
